I currently run 32p Maximus 5 blades on my 28' Eliminator Daytona. The problem is that I am all over my rev limiters at WOT. Another problem I have is that the 32's were labbed before I got them so I don't know exactly what was done to them. I do know that the diameter on them was cut down to 15" and it looks like a little was taken off of the flange ( I think that is the right name for it). I want to try 34p Maximus's but I'm afraid they might be to big??? By cutting down the diameter what does that achieve? Oh and 4 blades are out of the question, tried them and could not get on plane because of the high x-dimension. Thanks.

The 34P Maximus propwill reduce your RPM of course, they start at 15 7/8 and we can cut them down from there. The larger diameter will bring the RPM down. Post your WOT RPM, WOT MPH , gear ratio and lets take a look at your numbers. This will help us with diameter possbilites. I also have some used Maximus props in 30P, 32P and 34P. Let talk.

The propellers you have can be bumped up a little in pitch. Additional pitch can be added by rolling the correct amount of cup into the correct trailing edge locations. This will definately improve the rpm issue and should help you to gain some speed and cruis.
The bottom line is, we would need to see what we are dealing with before making any promises.
The flange you are talking about is called a diffuser ring. It is used to disperse the exhaust gasses beyond the high pressure side of the blades. The reason these are so long is also a long story explained in earlier posts. The fact is some can be removed.
I think the diameter on your props could have been left a little larger. Depends on the X dimention and the boats attitude.
We have the 34's in our test prop inventory if you wish to try them.
Just give us a call.

Thank you both for your help! As far as the info you requested Julie, I'm bumping my rev limiters at 5400-5450 (525's) at those RPM's I'm usually doing about 108-109 m.p.h and I am running 1.35 gears with the 32p 5 blades, but who knows what kind of "tweaking" have been done to them. I do know they are cut down to 15" and the diffuser ring is cut also. Thanks.
