re pitching question
#1
I have a 312 fastech with base 454 mpi's ,28's & 1.65's and Im hitting the rev limiters with no problem, is it worth getting them re-pitched or go for some 30 lab's, im a prop dummy so any suggestions would be great.

I seem to remember you said you just bought the boat. If your hitting the rev limiters in cold weather, wait until you can run it in warmer weather. You'll likely loose 200 RPMs as the heat/humidity increases during the summer.

A clear baseline is important with standard loads. Meaning people, fuel, gear weather conditions etc.
If the 28's are stock and you still hit the limiters in normal conditions, Labbed 30s may be too small also. However, with this boat, that would be a common size.

Prop Guru's....I had this very same boat with 502 Mags (415HP). I'm pretty sure Vincent is running base 454's (310HP). I ran poorly/slightly labbed 30P 4 blade bravos to 5,050.
Hope this info helps on this model.......

well friday it ran 62 gps and hit the rev somewhere in the 4750-4800 thats before I get a chance to trim it up good and let it settle, when I back off the throttle it pulls hard(good surge of power) this boat has supper great midrange for the base 454,I just got the boat and I bet it would hit the revs @ 7/8 throttle with average trim, I know its cool out(75deg), but this seems off to me.I cant imagine a couple of K&N filters doing that much extra hp.

If you don't know the history of your current props I would start looking at those before you go out and buy a set of props. I suspect your current props have had some work done to them, either by a prop shop or the bottom.
When the time comes to purchase new propellers you may want to look at other options other than Bravo 1 propellers.
