Do you have any propellers what so ever you can test with to get a baseline?

otherwise, we can get you some 23 Mirage Plus's to try.

Do you know the wet weight of the boat ?

I had a 370 HP 1987 Scarab Panther. I think B-Blades is real close with 23P Mirage. Brett should be able can move the RPM range up or down 200 rpm if you need adjustment. With final tweaking, you should be able to run 63-65 mph.

I dont have any props to try, but wellcraft says the boat empty weight is 6500 Lbs.hey also tell me that tey would have shipped this boat new with 21 lazer props. Most people seem to recommend mirage plus.I dont knowof any place here in the area of toronto Ontario Canada that will allow you to test props.I dont mind buying new ones but only if i know which one works best.If there is anyone that knows of a way to get a test prop please let me know

I would not recommend the Lazer II props on a 30' boat. They do not have enough blade surface area or diamter to run on your boat efficiently. Stick with the Mirage Plus's

Is the mirage plus with vent holes a better option?Or is the one without good enough for my application? If i went with vent holes what size holes should i get?

Thanx in advance for all that have responded
Ralph

23 Mirages would be a good place to start for sure. I know of other scarab owners that tried alot of props and didnt do any better. most of the early scarabs ran the drives prety deep and the mirages seemed to do well on those setups. The boats I am refering to were a bit older and heavier but were tweeked for a bit more power. They also were running TRS drives 1.5-1 ratio If you cant find a good set let me know I have some 23s or mabye there 25s have to look .I know there balanced and ran together well, when I bought them I tried 3 pairs before I found some that ran in sinc at the same rpm . Iwas told this is not uncommon w/ mirages. Good Luck!

I had a 1988 panther with 454 mags.(365hp) with Bravo 1 drives with 1.50 ratio. Wellcraft put 25p mirage (3 blades) on it. We ran 68mph @5000 with a light load.

Does anyone know where i could g a set of prps to try if i guaranteed to buy the set i like?

HiPerf2000 03-24-2007 01:38 AM

i ran across these on ebay. i would buy used props until you find what works, then send them out to get tweaked.

I had an 88 Panther with 7.4's, and it ran 63mph with 23" mirages.

I split the hull down the middle, but that's another story!

ralphspa 03-25-2007 11:31 AM

Hey fredefox

Not familiar with pm yet . How do i d that? Do i use my messenger? I would be interested so if u lemme know how to get a hold of you we can talk.

As for splitting the hull down the middle im assuming you hit something, cause the last thig i wanna hear is that this boat of mine is common for splitting apart whilst driving.lol.

Thanx Ralph

We offer a complete test program. We are VERY reasonable. The charge is $30 for the set with no strings attached. The only issue is the border. If you want to test some propellers, just let us know.

Thanks.

ralphspa 03-30-2007 06:36 PM

Bblades - What props do you sell? Do you carry Mirage plus props? The border is no problem since its only an hour from me and i can get it shipped to an address i use there.
Thanx
