Default worn props

Do props generally go bad? I have two ten year old bravo 1 props with 377hrs on them. installed fresh 540ci 650hp expecting to hit 5900 rpms@90mph but only hitting 5200rpm @80mph???? Half tank fuel 90 gallons. Props on 1997 Bravo 1 Drives. 32ft Advantage boat. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Dean I responded to your email, but to answer your question yes propellers do age or to say the metal ages more specifically. I sent you some suggestions on dial in work. Let me know if I can help.

Additionally the propellers may experience subtle changes thru time from general "wear". They should be freshened routinely from a maintainence perspective to maintain performance.

Hello,

Diameters decrease, cups wear, blades lay back. Power of boat and eviroment the props run in affect the time frame till refurbish is needed. They should be cleaned up once a year or once every two years. Some people need it once a month LOL.
