Top end isn't as important as time to plane, efficiency at cruise (50-60 mph). I boat in rough water at loto and getting on place in the rough can be a problem but once on plane I do pretty well. I am also having a little difficulty staying on plane at 30 mph, which is the speed limit at night.

I have the same boat/yr/props. You have to throttle up till she starts to blow out, then back off sticks a bit, will grab again, then hammer down and trim the drives and tabs.

If you try to just push the sticks forward from go, you will have a small prob.

Set drives at 2 and tabs at 5.

I have am 2006 and it is a TOUGH boat to get on plane. I think they all came with 32 bravo 4 blades. Like DT42 said just feather the throttle, because there is no way to get on plane by just pushing the sticks all the way forward!!!!! If anybody finds a better prop please let me know.....BZ

Sounds hard on the drives!

or hit "Click here" on my signature line.

1. Turn it up LOUD_

2. At 9-10 seconds of 35 total, if you listen carefully, the blowout occurs and you can hear me back off a hair ball, then ease on forward again while trimming the tabs/drives.

I do worry about the extra stress on the drives getting on plane. This past weekend in the rough water, I was trying to go slow with the drives but had to take the trim out a little to get one of the props to grab and it seemed to take forever. I want to try some 5 blades, maybe 28 or 30 pitch to see if it makes a difference. If anyone has some experience with some, let me know.

5 blade maximus props on that boat will plane in 5 -7 seconds verses 25. and the cruise will be up 7-8 maybe even 10.
it will absolutely astonish you.

What does a pair of Maximus cost, say 30 pitch? I am going to try some 5 blade in the next couple weeks to see what the differences are.
