357 Bravo conversion...Prop selection
Started a newthread here the old one didn't quite fit so here are the particulars. Okay! Problem fixed with fuel delivery. I had a bottleneck at the fuel filter water seperator. I upgraded to the Deamon 830's. the people over at Barry Grant are outstanding. The new carbs work great. Now back to the beguining. The rev 4 23's worked well to get the boat on plane but the performance was lack luster. I borrowed a set of Bravo 1 26's and it woke the boat right up. It planes much better the handling is fantastic the Cruise (the most important to me) is the best I've seen yet. Now keep in mind that this boat lives in the water and is pulled periodically to clean the bottom. (Fresh water) These numbers are with a dirty bottom. Plane was easy @ 2500 rpm. @ 3600 rpm I was running 42mph, @ 4000 I was running 52 mph. But I could only get 4500 @WOT and 60mph. But that was with a dirty bottom. I would venture to say with a clean bottom I would get another 4-5 mph and a couple hundred RPM's. Are these the right props? How much can I expect out of a lab finish...and will a lab finish deminish any cruising speed? I would like to run the boat @ 5000 - 5250 max. I will say that the bow was up with the Bravo 1's compared to the rev 4's, and it felt looser but still ripped through the corners great. I felt like I could stand it on the gunnel if I wanted to...

Try a set of 25 Hydromotive Q4X, Just a suggestion but should lift the azz of that heavy 357 and pick up some speed. BTW awesome job on the stinger and engine compartment redo.

Clean the bottom to take the guess work out. I will be surprised if would actually pick up 5 mph or 6-700 rpm. A few yes.
Different Lab jobs affect cruise speeds differently.

Well I got the bottom clean about 90%, forgot my dive mask and had to do it blind. But I was right about the speed but wrong about the rpm. Planes great (26 B-1's) @ 3000 I was running 40. @ 3600 I was running 50. At WOT and 4500 I was runing 64. I think I might have been able to let the drives out a touch more but I'm not quite used to this set up yet and was a little hessitent. I know they were just a tad past the neutral point. The neutral point on the boat is 3 and I had them at 4. I just dont seem to have much from 3/4 throttle to WOT. I have a smaller set of blower pulleys. (I'm running 4lb's at present). Should I do that first? Or do we have enough info here as a startig point.

You may need a little more seat time and time with the boat trimming out a little more. Your RPM will increase more and then we can take a look. Keep in mind that the more accurate your data the better your prop fitting will be.

Wow, if I read this right, you gained no rpm and 4 mph on the top. Interesting.
There are different Lab jobs so, gain more seat time, determine the boost level and utimate top rpm and the prop selection and finishing will be easier.
