Default Time to re-prop, looking for recomendations?

06 Fountain 35 Lightening 496's, X drives,Currently using the stock Bravo1 4 blade
15.25x34, 1:65:1 RATIO. Now have about 160 hours and the props show signs of your garden variety A-typical wear. Top speed is 80@5100, hole shot and midrange appear satisfactory. Any recomendations on a better prop selection? myabe a 5 blade to eek out a tad better performance without sacrficing the drives.

Your props are most likely 15.25x34 Bravo 1's.

They will usually run 1.65:1 ratios on that set up. If it is 1.5:1 your efficiancy is pretty poor.

I'd test some 30 Maximus and any other 5 blade props you can. Overall performance should be likely. Also, determine your goals before deciding on the final propellers.

I have looked at the 5 blade Maximus 15-5/8 X 34, should
I not change the pitch when going from a 4bld to a 5bld?
The Maximus is about twice the cost of the stock Bravo 1s
I am currently running. If I can get a somewhat decent
improvment throughout the operational range of the boat, (I am not really concerned about eeking out a mile or 2 of top end) then it may be worth it.

GCAT, Picked up 6 mph across the midrange levels, using less trim than with the 4 blades. You will like the way your boat changes for the better with 5 blades. I got a set form TU, haven't had an opportunity to try any Max design. Carder

Correction: I picked up 10 mph @ 4500... from 66 to 76 mph, using less trim also.
My memory is failing, and I was trying to remember from memory.. I looked at my log on the boat this weekend. Carder

Carder - what prop did you buy from TU? Is it one of their cnc'ed props? What size? Always looking for ways of increased speed.

Rebel Heart and GCAT911:
I ended up with 5 blade, 15.25 x 31's CNC's.
I am running about 590HP thru 1.50's on Stellings Ext. boxes.
It is a 1999 Lightning, so only a single step. I have MSD's with the rev limiters set at 5600, peak HP is at 5400 (according to Dyno @ Tyler Crocketts). These props have only got up to 5200 rpm to date @ WOT
