Default Best Prop- '94 Dominator

I'm in the process of purchasing a 1994 Sunsation Dominator. It's powered by stock 7.4L Bravos (carb 310hp)- yeah, I know...dull! I'm pretty new to all this..so things should be just fine as is for a while. Not a very upgradeable motor anyway.

Anyway, the boat's presently spinning Mirage 25" pitch 3-blade props. For the present, my main focus is not top speed. Looking more at performance out of the hole and at cruise speed; also looking for best fuel economy. Should I stick with what I have or look into something else, like the 26" Bravo 4-blade?

Wait till you get it and get used to it before you start changing stuff would be my advice.

You need to run the boat first and see where you are at RPM-wise. If you have straight Mirage and not Mirage Plus then you most likely have the best top speed prop on there right now. A switch to Mirage Plus, which has cupping on the blades, would probably help with hole-shot and mid-range. Not sure how conservative Wayne was back then on X-dimension so I would call the factory before trying Bravo I 4-blades. The drives might be too deep for those props to be effective. Like Griff said, wait until you run the boat and get a baseline and see where you want to go from there...if anywhere.

Call the factory and find what 4 blades they went to on that hull. Wayne has played with props for anything he has ever built. He even help me when I first got my Phantom. He is a wizard.

Agreed, testing what you have first makes the most sense.

4 blade propellers will work better for the goal you are after. There are a couple to try first. Merc Revolution 4 and Turdo OS1. We have them for testing if you are interested.

You need smaller diameter 4 blade propellers on this application.

I would agree with 4B's and a little seat time before dialing in new props. The Bravo I props, work well on your application.
