Hi!
I hope you all are well.
What is the performance differences between a Hydromotive QIV-O/B vs a Mercury Revolution 4 prop?
I have tried a pair of Hydromotive QIV-O/B labbed props 15 x 25 pitch with speed cup on my Phantom 25 with twin 2.5 EFI SS. So I just wonder how Merc Revolution 4 25 pitch will compare.
My boat ran 85 mph at 7.200 rpms with two persons, and 86-87 mph at 7.400 rpms with one person with the Hydromotive QIV-O/B.
A Mirage Plus 27 non labbed prop has been the fastest with 86 mph at 6.800 rpms with two persons and 87 mph with one person at 6.900 rpms. A labbed Mirage Plus 25 with thinned bladeds and a little more bowlift will be the ticket for high speed runs I think.
I also tried a pair of second hand labbed Chopper II 26 props. They did only 84 mph at 7.000 rpms. I am not sure what has been done to the propellers. However, if I rise the engines, the speed may increase. I will see in the spring. Cruise speed suffered though.

The Revolution 4 propellers have a smaller diameter but more blade area. In a Labbed condition they will most likely provide good all around performance. However, the Q4 propellers will probably have a little better top speed. Testing is the only way to know for sure.

Hi!
Thanks for answer Brett!
I have sent you an email with an order for two labbed Mirage Plus 25/26 props. Hope we can work that out during the winter / spring!
Does Revolution 4 have more bowlift than a Hydromotive QIV-O/B?

Toffen, I'll email you about the order tomorrow.
As a rule, yes the Rev 4's have more bow lift.
