Default Bravo vs. Mach Stern Driver

I have a Bravo 1 4 blade that I really like, but I need to go up in pitch. I found a Mach Stern Driver 4 blade that looks very similar to the Bravo 1. Can anyone tell me what differences to expect?

thanks

I've been told by a couple of the gurus on this board that they are actually a pretty good prop which was contrary to what i thought when i bought my boat with them on it,

my 22P Mach Sterndrivers ran within 1 MPH of my 21P Mirage plus and my friends 23P Accelerator design labbed Mirage Plus (labbed by that guy that is no longer around)

but i have not run bravos on my hull

Judging from the lack of responses and the fact that a search yields no info, I'm guessing it's not a popular option around here???

I've got all winter to find some other used props on ebay (props are almost free right now on ebay for some reason!) so I'm just wondering if I should try to find a higher pitch bravo 1 or if that's just duplicating what I already have.

Mach props went out of business a long time ago. But they did make a good prop. I had one on my 24 Outlaw and it was the fastest prop I ran. I held the water better than the Bravo 1 did. Since you have a Powerquest I would suggest going for it because your hull was similar to my Outlaw. I think you will like it. I also had a friend who had a 26 Legend and he ran a mach sterndriver as well.

Let us know what you decide to do.

I know several guys that really like the mach's, also on 24 outlaws. I did try a mach 3 blade and didn't care for it. It was slower than my mirage and had a ton of slip. I would give it a shot for sure.

Typically good top speed if the slip number is ok. Poor mid range and trim capacity to the B1's because of geometry.

Try anything you can get your hands on. The knowledge will help you to get were you need to go.

Their biggest down fall was loosing blades at the hub.

Brett would labbing of these props help the poor midrange and trimming ability? and still add to the topend?

what do you mean by trim capacity?

Ability to carry the bow.

Yes, adding rake and adjusting the trailing edges can help both these issues. We should have some basic baseline numbers at cruise and WOT to determine if we can get where you need to go.
