There's always the ying and yang for me. It's difficult if not impossible to have it all. Cuping the prop will give you better time to plane and hole shot but it will cost top end. Depends on who you are.

Those hydromotive props are mules out of the hole. Bravo props are much better - at least that was the deal with my 27.
29's are better with the hydro props. I was told to run nothing but bravo props on mine. Hydro provided too much stern lift. |

Smaller pitch will often help with planning. However, if you run into the limiter at WOT, you will lose speed.

I too have this problem and have been looking into b-blades.Im hitting 65 on gps with about 3/4 fuel with one person onboard.Have tabs at 2 to 3 on indicators and the drive at about 4 to 5 WOT but hit rev limiter at about 3/4 throttle.Have tryed backing out and slowly increasing throttle but nothing seems to help.I have a 27 with a 496 ho with a 1:65 ratio and a 26p bravo 1.Any help would be gratly apperciated.would like to see low 70's if possible?
If your hitting the rev limiter while running WOT then maybe go up a pitch, see where you stand, your cruising speed will be better for sure anyways. My opinion, and I dont mean to rain on anyones parade, 65mph, 68mph and 70mph, 75mph, theres not much difference. You need to remember that you have a 27' boat, it gets real hairy at the upper 80's and low 90's. Once you scare yourself you wont have fun with it anymore I promise and your girl wont either. You can dick around with this thing all you want, I had 850hp in mine and it ran 95mph most days, but it was a handful, when you get done testing and breaking stuff and replacing drives, you could have a nice downpayment on something bigger that can take you to the next level. If you are running a 28p Bravo, also consider a 29Hydro Q4 for best top end stuff. Unfortunately, I just sold 2 of them.
