Default Nordic Rage Prop Question?

I have a Nordic Rage with a 496HO (180hrs). The lower drive is a Bravo 1x (1.50 gear) with a Bravo 26p 4 blade prop. The best I got the boat to run is 65 mph on GPS with a half tank of gas (26 gallons) and one person at 560 feet elevation? I was only turning around 4500 rpms WOT? What prop could get me in the 70's with loosing general performance? Stock these boats should run 70/75. Thanks for your help!

I have the same set up as you and same prop, I can 75 mph any day with a best of 78. This may sound like a stupid question, but are you trimming the outdrive up and how far?

Your boat should be running better with that 26, what were water conditions and how far trimmed?

A couple questions? How many RPMs are you turning when running 75/78mph? Are you against the rev limiter? Also, are you using a GPS? I'm trimming the outdrive up until I start to loose speed and the boat starts to walk, then I back off on the trim and readjust. Any help would be great. I would be happy if I could hit the low 70's.

Thanks!

Nearly flat water conditions, and no wind. I had the boat trimmed about 1/4 of the way on the gauge? Thanks!

When mine tops out, I am at 5100 - 5200 rpm's so I right against it but don't hit it. Those speeds were on GPS last year, before GPS died.lol. Running full out mine is trimmed up to almost 3/4 all up on guage. I usually run about 1/2 on guage while cruising and can hear a difference in RPM and MPH when go up some more.

The 78 MPH is in about 1 foot of chop and cool air temp.

We are almost the same elevation so you should see the same. What RPM are you getting and are you sure you have a 26 Pitch prop?

I have the stock 26p prop. I'm only running around 4500/4600 rpms max. The motor runs like a top, no problems. I'll try trimming the drive more and see what happens. When you trimmed your drive to 3/4 on the gauge did you start to loose speed? Thanks for your help!

If I get it too far up it will loose speed and start to dance some. I usually just trim up according to sound and feel. How long have you had the boat? Did previous owner tell you how it ran?

I purchased my Rage (Closed bow) with a 24 p, that I believe was labbed, and I was hitting 65 gps at 5150 rpm alarming rev limiter. At that point I still had 3 clicks left to get WOT.
I called BBlades and tested their 26 labbed and I was hittn just over 73 with a little extra rpm to play with.
Something really dont sound right if your stock 26p is only getting you 65 gps. I would suggest calling BBlades and asking about the test props. A cheap way to see what you really need.
