I run a 24p Bravo I (came with boat) on my 253 Convincor right now. Not the right prop but I havent had a chance to experiment yet. I am somewhere around 600 hp. The bravo I lifts my stern too hard and it gets squirley. I did try a 27p Mirage Plus with the pvs plugs in......terrible slip, could blow it out easily up to 65 mph and could barely get on plane. The Convincors need and love bow lift.
I think you have the right idea calling Brett. I will be calling him once my motor is broke-in instead of just broken.

Well it's been a while since I posted. My initial post diagramed my set up at the time, after 1 hour of running that motor it blew up again, back in late March, threw 2 rods, wasn't moving any oil. Long story short, the guy who built it screwed up, and of course he moved out of state almost immediately following, just my luck. I never even got to try another prop, but I have a 4 blade 28p ready & waiting for when it can finally get in the water.
Anyhow, they just finished the motor yesterday, 502 stroked to 547, same top end, but completely rebuilt & dyno'd this time. Results are:
606 hp @ 5300 rpm
600 ft lbs torque @ 5300 rpm
489 hp @ 3800 rpm
676 ft lbs torque @ 3800 rpm
Not as much as I had hoped for or expected, but at least I know it was built the right way this time, and I have proven numbers. I can't wait to get it in the water to see what she's capable of. I'm still going to try it with the current prop first for comparison sake's. Hopefully I'll get the motor dropped in the boat by next week.
