Default Need Prop advice

I have a 26' Sonic Prowler. Weighs about 6000lbs dry. The engine is a bbc 502 with just over 600hp. Looking for a good all around prop that wont be a pig out of the hole but still give me good top end. I want to do 80+ mph.

Probably start with a 26p 4 Blade B1.
I had the same boat and ran a 24p 4 Blade B1.

You might be able to turn a 28p 4 blade B1.

Stick a post in the Sonic forum to bounce your setup off others.

There is no way a 26 ft single screw boat weighs 6000 lbs! If that's true its going to need more than 600 hp to move at 80 mph. Are you sure about the weight?

It's a very heavy boat. Brochure specs of days past were 5050 lbs. (before vacuum bagging was introducted to the Sonic line) I'll bet mine was around 5500 lbs; probably 6000 lbs. when the 102 gallon fuel tank was full. It was 7280 lbs. on trailer with fuel and all of my gear.

My mistake. Just looked at the original "window sticker" and the dry weight is 4900lbs "Approx". Not sure where I got 6000lbs from. Mine is undergoing a minor diet. Loosing close to 200lbs with removing silent choice, stock manifolds, and steel heads for aluminum. 200lbs might be optimistic. lol
