What ratio are your drives?
I'm running 1.61 wet-sump #6's on my '88 with 800 per side. 16.5 4blade 30P Mercs. My drives are turning out and the boat planes like a Bravo boat. The bullets of the drives are almost 1" above the bottom surface. 6100 WOT in the low to mid 80's.

oldschool, shouldnt you be seeing faster WOT speeds? A friend of mine had a 99 top gun with twin 1000hp and dry 6's and his top speed was 106 on gps. the 6s definatly trim in way more, his boat was runing 17x34 4 blades & it planed like a 26foot crownline
However his drives must have been set deep because it had no roost...Im really hoping to see upwards of 90+ out of mine, or am I out of my mind?

I put on the 17x35's and the boat planed out very well but i couldn't get the revs up (which i expected) i hit mid 80's at 4700rpm... Took them off at the beach and put on a set of 17x30's which have a polished mirror finish (could hardly get on plane) not sure if the finish was making the prop slip too much or what.. i ended up going for dinner and didn't get to run the boat at WOT and get any numbers. Ill try this week and see..
