Default Help with Prop choice 29 Fountain

I have a 1995 Fountain with a stepped bottom. Running twin 500 HP's with CMI headers and Bravo 1 Imco EXtreme Advantage drives and Imco 1" shortys. What props and pitch do you guys think I should start with? Anybody with close to this set up? I have a chance to buy a set of 27P 4 Blade Hydromotives at a steal of a price, yes, no, maybe. Thanks.

What do you run now? Speed rPm? Gives us some numbers. The 27p sounds good but you need to see what has been done to them.

This is a new install. I don't have any numbers to go on. I just need to know a good starting place. Hoping somebody with close to the same set up or maybe somebody with a crystal ball could help out. LOL I don't imagine I'll get it right the first try but hopefully close. Thanks.

Twin 500's in a 29 is going to need more than 27" props. Probably at least 30's or 32's........assuming you have 1.5 drives.

I am running 502's with B&M Blowers (est HP 575-600hp/engine) and I turn 30p 4 blades to 5200 easily. Fully loaded with fuel (155 gal) and one other person I get about 85-87 mph out of her. 1/4 tank of fuel and light load she will be in the low 90s (90-93). I am running XR drives (1.50 gear ratio).

Thanks for the input. I will pass on the 27P's and will look for a set of 30P's. Sounds like a good place to start.

Call us and we can send you a set of 30 stock B1's to test with. The cost to do so is $90 and there are no strings attached. If like them you can buy them, if not we can discuss the findings and you can send the props bck.
