Prop info for 27 baja
Hey guys I have a Baja 275 w/496ho I currently have a 21p revolution 4 prop that was on the boat when I bought it. The pitch is to low I'm spiking 5500 rpms. I went on mercurys prop selector and they recommended 3 props a bravo 1 22p, a rev 4 23p, and a mirage 23p. What prop do u think will give me the most speed/ best performance I hear the 4 blades have better hole shot and handling but that the mirage is usually about 2 mph faster top speed. My boat currently runs 61 on gps at 5400rpms would love to see 65 maybe 66 if possible and get the rpms down to 5000 where they should be. Any input is greatly appreciated

The Mirage+ is going to be the fastest, should put you between 62-64+. The B1 22" is more like a 21, and a prop like the Rev4 with more bow lift works better on that hull. A 23" Rex4 will have a better hole shot, mid range cruise and still a good top end between 61 and 63. The B1 with it's big dia. and little bow lift, will be the slowest of the bunch on that hull. You need bow lift on the Baja's. As an example, Boattest.com and Powerboat has tested the 26OL with the M+ labbed @ 66,2 and 67 mph.
You will have a hard time getting 66 with a stock prop, and it won't happen with a 4 blade. I've found the M+ to be a great top end prop, with fairly good midrange capabillites on the 27s. All in all, it depends on what you want to do.
There is no "one-size-fits-all" in the prop world. If it was me, I would sell or swap the Rev4 21" for a Rev4 23", spend the extra coin on the M+ and get the best of both worlds. I've never seen how a 25" M+ works on the 27s, so if you have some friends or a prop pusher that can let you try a 25" M+, give it a whirl. You will never regret having something to choose from.
Good luck with it.

these numbers are the very best on my 272 496 HO GPS and smartcraft tach.
bravo 22=64 at 5150 hit the rev limiter
bravo 24=64 at 4800
mirage+ 23=66.4 at 5050
rev 23=65.4 at 5000
for every day boating the rev 4 is my best, depend of the day anywhere between 62 and 65

Yea I love the way mine performs with the rev minus the low pitch but I think the 23 will be much better I'm just gonna have to get my hands on both props and run them and see how they both do....
