My buddy has a 1987 Scarab Excel 26' with a 330 hp 454 Alpha 1
It currently has a 3 blade clever or chopper on it of unknown origin
The boat seems slow, what pitch prop should this boat have? he wants to experiment but I am unsure of drive ratio, and where to begin, any help would be appreciated!

Look for any markings or number on the propeller and call us with that info plus rpm and speed at wide open throttle.
We can help from there.

Thanks BBlades! I finally looked at it over the weekend, The only markings were "s&s19p"
I'm assuming its a 19 pitch, the wot was around 4200 I believe at about 45mph
I haven't been on the boat since last season so this is off memory. I believe his engine is safe to spin to 4400...
Let me know what you think!
Thanks again!!

It looks like the prop is hooking up well.
Let's get actual numbers now and we can determine the best course of action.
Let us know,
Brett
