Default Old prop stolen now can't plane with new prop HELP

I own a 98 Baja Hammer with a 7.4 454 mag. I had my prop stolen a few months back and it was a 25p and it ran fine but sometimes had a hard time planing out. I bought a Mirage Plus 25p and unless it's just myself and ONE other person it will not plane out but the top end is amazing. I just picked up an older Quicksilver 23p to see if it's the prop that may be causing this reuccuring embarrassment. Anyone have any good advise? Thanks in advance

It sounds like you could use a 23 Mirage Plus but without knowing RPMs that's just a guess. The Mirage Plus does need a little more HP to turn compared to other 3 blades of equal pitch, including the Mirage.

My motor stock is 385hp, so I guess I'll try to run it this weekend with this older Quicksilver 23p. If it takes care of the plane out issue I'll buy a Mirage Plus 23p and sell my new 25p.

I'll get my RPMs this week. Could it be my gear ratio?

I just picked up a 4 blade Merc Rev 23p, I still have to test the 23p Quicksilver. I want to test all 3 props this weekend and get RPMs at WOT. Does anyone know where I can get information like what WOT is supposed to be? I cant find it online and dont own a manual. Thanks in Advance

a 7.4 mag is supposed tp run at 48-5000 rpm wot. and like said the mirage + has extra cupping and you could say acts like a higher pitch prop than what it is

RESULTS!!

Took boat on river today.

25p mirage plus- 2900rpm tabs up, trim down and would not plane
with tabs down finally planed out @4200rpms.

23p 3blade-4800rpm @65mph tabs up, trim down (wouldn't trim up due to high rpms already)

23p 4blade-4500rpm tabs up, trim down//4800rpm tabs up trim up

the 23p 4 blade really impressed me it handled great and planed out faster than ever. I was running 68-70mph with it and really like it.

the 23p 3blade had way to high rpm for my comfort level and I could not trim up at all.

the 25p 3blade wouldn't plane out with tabs up, and had very low rpms. with the tabs down it would finally plane out

I had a 113lb passenger and about 160 lbs in sandbags and tools in the back seat..

any thoughts.? thanks
