Default 24 x 7 prop help

Ive got a 1991 Sunsation 24' Rocket (24 x 7) with a 454bbc/bravo1 setup. The P.O. said the motor has 500HP, but all I know about the motor is it has some Edelbrock heads and intake manifold... Sure theres a decent cam in there as well, but no specs/part numbers.

Right now, its got a Bravo 1 - 26p prop on there...

at WOT im running just a touch over 4900RPM and pushing 69mph all day with a full load of fuel and 2 people, and a best of 71mph with <1/4 tank of gas and still 2 people... GPS speeds FWIW

Video below running WOT a few times...

This thing is really moving and get a bit of chine walk up there, but a touch of tab calms it down a little bit.

Id really love to see a bit more RPM/Speed out of the boat if possible safely...
I can get my hands on a Bravo 1 - 22p prop, but think that maybe a little too small??

Should I be looking into a Bravo 1 - 24p
or something like having bblades doing some of this magic on my 26p?
or anything a 3 blade can give me for the days I want to really just run WOT?

Thanks in advance!

Try a 23p mirage 3 blade. I found my 01 ran best with it.

it's common knowledge that dragging a boarding ladder will cost ya 400 rpms and 5 mphs
an anchor is worse but it depends on what type..

seriously tho nice video

1+

If you got anywhere near 500hp the 23 mirage will be to small. I run a 23 on my Rocket. My motor dynoed at 400hp Probably 370 in the boat. I first had a 25 mirage and it was too big. The 4 blade also will make the boat chine walk more because it gives stern lift. I have been playing with the 4 blades because I want better cruise speed I don't run wide open often. 26 bravo was too big and 22 bravo was too small. Wish I still had the 25 mirage for you to try but I sold it a few months ago.

Another option is the trophy+ 4 blade, smaller dia. They run well on the outboards, not sure about the I/O

I agree a 25 3-blade is a good start. But, I don't think the 500hp estimate is optimistic.

He has to have close to or 500hp. He is spinning a 26p Bravo at 4900rpm. I could only spin that prop on my Rocket to 4200rpm with a full tank of gas and 4 people. I never tried that prop with a light load. 700rpm more takes some real power.

I have a 24p B1 and would like to try a 26. Want to
Trade for testing? And if we are both TOTALLY happy trade?
