Would a Maximus 5 Blade Help me out??

I have a 27' Fountain with a 502, 415hp engine. I get a lot of blow-out on take off. Especially in oncoming seas. Not as bad in trailing seas. My question for the prop experts is: Do you think a Maximus 5 Blade would help me with this?

Forgot to mention that I am currently running a 24P Bravo 1.

Do you have a drive shower. They cause that quite frequently.

How deep is the prop shaft in relation to the bottom of the boat directly in front of it?

The boat is in storage and I won't have access to it for a couple of weeks. It's a stock setup in a 1997, 27' Fever if that helps.

That vintage should have a realatively moderate X dimention. But, measuring it is the only way to know.

'97 model is 17.25". i believe that makes the prop 6-7" below the keel

Agreed but as we all know alot can happen in 16 years. Also, every identical boat can be different.

The 5 blade will definately help the planing but it may compromise the top speed due to drag and stern lift.

The boat has a stepped hull. Wouldn't stern lift be a major problem.
