When driving my boat at WTO and moderate trim my boat begins to loose steering. By this I mean the boat feels extremely loose and unresponsive. My boat is a Formula 292 SR-1, I'm running hydromotive QIV props, speed is 69-70 mph. My drives are the old ('89) bravo drives. I know these are more blunt than the newer style. Is what I'm experiencing prop blowout and would nose cones help if this is the issue?

More than likely you are experiencing the propeller loosing bite. This could be due to boat bottom and drive depth. It could be from the drive creating a cavitation bubble in turns. Or, most likely, the propeller itself have been reworked poorly or it is just worn with laid back blades or washed out cups.
A easy test would be to loan one of our test props and run it. If the problem goes away, we know it is the propeller. Or you can send us your current propeller for inspection.
Thank you,
Brett
