Default Back Up Props for Outboard F26

I recently bought a DCB F26 with twin 300x's. It currently has 32P 4-blade Mercury cleavers on it that are in perfect condition. I want to have a set of back up props and have been thinking about getting a set that's a little different that I could also use for non-poker run situations... such as a very heavily loaded boat on a weekend. I'm new to the OB game, but a little research has me thinking possibly drilled Bravo Ones, Bravo XS's. OR should I just get another set of Mercury or Mazco cleavers and forget about it?

chewymalone,

I feel the Bravo 1 props done correctly is the best idea. I would suggest looking at our Bravo OB. Here is a link to our site and the OB's page.

We offer this propeller in stock and Lab Finished versions.
The Bravo OB we make is a direct competitor to the Mercury Bravo XS.

Back in 1998, While working at Mercury Racing, Dennis Cavanaugh and I began experimenting with the Bravo 1 propeller. We developed the Bravo XS but did not give it a name. The name XS is simply a marketing ploy Mercury Racing is using to brand a Bravo 1 that simply has modifications to it that yours truly has been doing for 15 years.

If you would like to test these propeller without having to buy them, please give us a call and you can determine for yourself first hand if you like these props.
My guess is they will do just what you desire. Plus, we can then build them directly to your slightest desired adjustments.

Brett

Thanks Brett. I haven't brought the boat home yet, but will be the next time I'm out West. I will get back with you when I'm up and running.

Hello ChewyMalone,

Thought you might want an alternative to the Bravo props for your pleasure use. As you know, the Merc overhub cleavers are fast on top end but not good at cruise or out of the hole. You boat does like stern lift which we can provide with a set of cut down Quad IV's. These are tail lifting props and do not need to be modified to achieve your lift requirements. The cost would be 750.00 per prop, which includes cutting them down. Please call us for additional details. You'll love these props.

Thank you,

Thom
