Tried a pair of 25P standard Mirage this weekend, went 68@ 5100-5200 depending on trim, I would have thought more speed or at least the same??? engines make same power HP from 5100-5400 within 1 HP.... loses TQ the higher it goes, was very surprised with them results and was not happy, sooooo now what ?? is the 3 blade 24P the ones to run at 5400 for top speed? I still have not tuned engines completely, I wanna get it as fast as I can the way it is, then tweak them a tad...

Should I try the 25 plus? everyone seems to run those over the standard Mirage on these, I don't have any but I can buy some....

I tried mirage plus's on my old formula with TRS. Top speed was 66mph, cruising was awful. Immediately took them off and put my 25 revolution 4 blades back on. Cruised better, and ran 70+ everyday. Those 3 blades slipped to much and couldn't carry the 40ft heavy boat . First time I had witnessed a 3 blade being slower than a 4 blade for top speed. The small diameter of the revolution and rake angle just works on a deep x TRS setup.

My 24's had a 14% slip hydromotive told me, he said that wasn't too bad but to get to 10%... not sure what it was yesterday... I am still torn on having a 4 blade on that big heavy boat...I have a set of 22 Hydromotives to try next time I go to the lake..

Got my buddys old labbed 25Mirage plus with my parts boat, ran them this weekend, went 70.4 with port engine down 2 rpm, was 5300 stbd, 5100 port, I have a fouled plug I think that wont recover, they are cold plugs, gonna put new ones in next weekend... also after that run coming back I was losing fuel pressure, so that can be it also, got down to 2-3 lbs at one point, soon as we saw that I babied it and it was at 7 the rest of the time, praying nothing got hurt, engine runs fine otherwise...

Fouled plug turned out to be a broken lifter therefor not firing.... I just got it all fixed and went out yesterday..... Saw in literally flat way water 73.4@5500 both engines with labbed 25 mirage plus... One has a small ding but don't seem to have mattered now them results made me happy!! No engine tuning and flat water.... I was very impressed... Peak engine hp is 5200 but only loses 3 hp between 5200-5500

I have used a set of 25 Mirage plus's you labbed them years ago for a buddy, now I have them, boat went best of 73.4 in FLAT water, 5500 rpm, calculates to 15% slip, that seems decent no??

Full Force,
Yes it is most definitely decent.
I'd need to go back to the original file and dissect the recipe to see if these specific propellers are most appropriate for your set up.
Call me if you want and we can go through that.

Brett

I will have to ask him, it woulda been YEARS ago.... I thin k like 99 or 2000?? they wer eon his 311 Formula...

I was literally in flat water and that sucks for the Mistress, I was floored it went that, didn't expect over 70 that day with flat water... I am not sure what to expect under a 2-3 foot chop, maybe 75??

I am not sure if the cost of better props is worth any gains, If it was only 2 mph not worth the cost?? or you think theres more there???

attaching a pic of dyno sheep from last owner of the engines, I just put these engines in this summer, I think they make a little more hp now, they do make lots of TQ and I bet that is helping a ton carry this big heavy hull....????
