prop advice 88 formula 29 pc
 

I'm running my new used boat at wot @ 42mph at 4500 rpm with b1 drives running inward. Props are 14.'s x 16 four blades Appolos. Boat needs some bow lift and I believe missing about 5 mph from what others told me top speed should be. Has rebuilt 7.4 454s...any input appreciated. Needed to boat a few more weeks@ mike and lyuba

We could try some 14 5/8x15 Revolution 4 props.

Hay.....someone else out there is trying to make pigs fly....haha. I dont know if this will help but on my Donzi 3250 SS with 454 mag mpi's and bravo 1's I run 21p mirage + 3 blades turning out and get 53 on gps with an average load at 5100 rpm. I always think about trying the props turning in but don't know if it is even worth it. The mirage + 3 blades carry the bow very well for such a heavy boat.

Anyone have/heard wot on this 88 formula Pc? Non Mag's...

I have a pair of 23 Mirages non plus labbed with extra cup, how do you think they will run? Anyone know what the baseline should be for this old pig?

These boats run very good for there size. My buddy got one last year and we were very impressed with it.

ya, im having fun with her..Do u know the prop setup? Maybe a bravo 3 would run nice...wonder what ratio for that and pitch props...?

Ya, I'm not that interested with wot but I think boat isn't dialed in at all for best cruise, etc. Just ddoesn't feel right compared to a 30ft regal I own owned yrs ago

Does he have smart phone, lots of free gps speedometers?

16's to 21's huh? seem like a far jump. any other suggestions, cant afford the 4 blade revs this year. Still have the 23's ...getting both motors freseneded up with rebuilt heads/intake and exhaust...still cant find the stock top end on this 29pc non mags...Not that need the top end but the cruising speed always felt incorrect at too low a rpm and would lose plane.

Don't know if this helps you but 1987 f-28pc w/twin 340 mags factory specs say 43 mph, sorry no listing on my sheet for t/454s

thanks. think the 29pc weighted a lot more too...and diff hull.ki did read somewhere it hit 50 with the mags...I have gen out, no heater, no air...as well.

well tore motor apart, new springs, valve job, carbs, intake, exhaust, head gaskets, switched distributors, computers, coills, still get a bad response like a tiny stall at WOT on one motor we cant figure out. Just on TOP end..only tops out at 39. seems one motor not giving any torque at 4600-4800. can get to 5000rpm (ran on external tachs). motors sounds fine at 45k...timing perfect, gas fine, ran external...just that little bit...strange. maybe starboard hub glue bad on one prop at high speed? they press on hubs...sorry, in hospital fightin most of summer cancer and finally out...gonna get to this issue if it kills me.

after many hospital visits and aggravation, it was the lifters....now to re prop it....15 Rev 4;s? they make them?

Yes, there are 15P Revolution 4 props available.

An old thread, I know but did anybody ever get to the bottom of this?
Have been looking at these on line but can't find much in the way of performance numbers. Odeally, would like a head, galley, and standing room that hits 50 kts but cruises comfortably at lower speeds. Is this even an option or do I need to look elsewhere?
