Take advantage of the slower winter months and have propeller work done while your boating buddies are just dreaming about their next run. Don’t be forced to wait in line when spring rolls around, get your propeller work done now, and for a special price! No matter who manufactured your propeller, BBLADES can perform whatever work you require. If you need to replace a prop, we offer competitive pricing on props from Mercury, Hering, Hydromotive, Acme, Stiletto and Turbo, not to mention our own line of BBLADES propellers. Not sure what prop is best for your boat? BBLADES offers the absolute best propeller testing program out there. Outboard or sterndrive, BBLADES has demo props available to test for a small fee; BBLADES is the ONLY place you will find a Six-drive-style prop test program—anywhere. Brett, I have a 19ft Champion Bass boat w/ a 200hp evinrude o/b. I am currently running a 24p 4 blade of which I don't know the make, prop is great out of the hole but is a little to much for mtr on the top end. How much would it cost to clean-up the leading edge & tweak it for more RPM's [ approx. 4-500 ] ??
|
Hello.
I will assume you have a renegade propeller. It is a OMC version of Mercury's Trophy. The cost to completely Lab the propeller is $320 during the winter special. Just a pitch adjustment/balance and buff will cost $200 However, these propellers do not respond to Lab Finishing like some other will. I would feel the results would be better (efficient) with a 200 rpm increase which involves the $200 fee. If you really desire a 400 rpm increase, going down in actual propeller casting size is the better option. Obviously adjusting your propeller is most cost effective if the 200 rpm is acceptable. Brett |
I will box it up & send it to you for the buff & tweak job, don't really need it labbed. meanwhile I'll hunt for a 22p
|
That sounds good.
We have a info sheet you can fill out if you desire that will give us some starting info. You only need to fill out what you can. We will call with any questions we have before we start the project. Here is a link to the info sheet. http://bblades.com/shipping-props-to-bblades/ Brett |
Is my prop worth fixing? All 3 blades are beat up pretty bad from sand bars, nicks gouges, tips bent, ect. Or prob be money ahead buying a new used one out of the classifieds/craigslist and labbing it form there?
Thank you, Rob http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps32e465ab.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps492e0ce4.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...ps3152d913.jpg |
Definitely Lab this propeller. Some of the repair work will come along for the ride.
Now is the time since Lab and repair labor is on winter special. Brett |
Keep'n it fresh!
|
I shipped mine up last Monday. Did you receive it? From Chris Jones. Thank you
|
We did receive your Mirage+.
We will be Lab Finishing it using the performance numbers and boat description you provided us on the customer detail sheet. We will call you with any questions we have if needed prior to the work being performed. Or contact us with any questions you might have. Thank you, Brett |
Brett, what is your turn around right now?
Thanks Richie |
Approximately 2 weeks.
However, we can and always work within a customers required time frame to the best of our ability. Brett |
Sounds good, I have scraped together my lab money and will try to ship them out by Friday as I am heading out of town in am. Hell, might even pull them off tonight and ship when i get to Shreveport :-)
Update: pulled off and will try to box up and ship when i get to Shreveport tmrrw or wed! :ernaehrung004: |
Hey Brett you should have received my props today. I left message to cal me with kaila before starting. I don't want to be thinned too much that may decrease durability. Thanks, Richie
|
Richie,
Props arrived yesterday. I have not inspected them as of yet. Kaila will put a note on the work order to contact you prior to my creating the recipe. Once the inspection is complete, you will hear from me. Thank you, Brett |

I heard that Satin was better/faster b/c of the rougher surface breaks? |
Hi Brett,
We emailed a couple of times last year and I ended up with a pair of 26P Bravo 1s. I need another 200-250 rpms and there are a few (minor) nicks on the blade edges. What can I expect cost wise during the winter special? I've filled out the mailing form on your web page. Thanks, Richard (Rick) Darling |
Just took advantage of this Winter Special with Brett. He recreated a custom Bravo 30P that I let go with another boat. I still had his prop # so he went to his files. Did not realize how great it was until it was gone with the previous boat.
The new one looks like I knew it would. Perfect! Can't wait until it warms up. Thanks Brett Greg |

theoretically Labbing the propellers with a recipe to gain 250 rpm is most likely the best move. If the damage is minor like you are stating, the repairs would most likely come along for the ride. Labbing Bravo 1 propellers is currently $320 instead of the normal $392. Therefor you will save $144 by doing the work during Jan. or Feb. If you send the props in, we can discuss the recipe and options in more detail.
Thank you, Brett Rick |
I am having a 496 HO installed as we speak into a 1997 Scarab 27, what do you suggest as I will probably go with your test program, thanks
|
Hello all,
Just a reminder we have 1 month winter special rates remaining. Now is the time to tune up for Spring! Call me with any questions. Brett |
Brett,
Just shipped mine. You should have them next week. Looking forward to more speed! |
Ok, we will look for the props and get back to you with any questions.
Brett |
Got mine back. Looks great, we'll see how it runs as soon as the river thaws. I have a four blade Bravo 1 for you to do as soon as I run it and get numbers for you to work off. Thanks again.
|
I have a couple sand bar ridden props. Im just trying to figure out that prop to send out.
One of my Mirage + 23 (witch has tested out the best so far) dose the "baja performance boats" prop any different then a normal mirage +? Or did Baja just etch their props that came out of there factory? http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/c...pskeyzk59l.jpg |

Thank you and we'll take care of the Bravo 1 when it works best for you. Brett |

We do still get those in here occasionally. side note, buffing the propeller removes the logo. Brett |

Brett Did my props come in? Thanks, Rick |
I'm getting ready to send my prop out and I'm sure you have seen tons and tons of props. What do you think a estimated time it would take to lab (post #6). 3 -4 hours?
Also what size box do you recommend for shipping mirage prop? Nice thing being in Mn, I can ship it threw speedee delivery to you :) Thank you, Rob |

H Brett.
Any room to get less slip on 4 blade 32 bravos running 14-15 percent now? I have a few dings and want to send out for repair., but wondering if I should stay with 32 and work these or jump up. I hear the 34 and 36 4 blades have inherent issues the 32s do not. I hit 100.2 mph at 5850 rpm (rev limit) 1.5 drive last year at 50 degree water and air temp. However I was getting cav later that day on only the port side (drives spinning in). Do the metal XR flo torq hubs wear out? When I removed the props at the end of the year the rubber strips on that side were no longer attached to the hub, but no signs of metal spinning in the prop hub. Normally runs 97 at 5700 rpm in 75 degree summer temps I would like to load it down to 5600 summer Thanks |

Our summer runs from Memorial Day until Labor Day. But our "heat" doesn't start until late June |

Standard Lab time frame for Mirage propellers is 4 hrs. This includes minor repairs. Your prop might require a little additional time if it needs some spot welding. That will be determined during inspection and work order creation. We are busy but not bombed. Our lead times have increased a little. If some one needs something done asap we can adjust the schedule during this time of the year. Although I am going to be in Miami, the work orders are in place and my partner and shop foreman is operating as normal throughout my time in FL. Bob and I are in contact daily with any and all questions. Bob and I share the production process and he will not be slowed down due to my absence.

Thank you, Brett Thank you for the response! I hope the Miami show was good for you guys. I'm sure you got a head start on the boat tan. One of these years I want to make it down there. I did send the prop already out. I took a guess at the boat's weight at 6200 lbs. I had my truck, boat & trailer all weighed at the local cat scale and it was 13,700. Not sure how accurate of a weight you guys need. i figured 6,000 on truck and 1,500 lbs on trailer. If the prop looks like it is going to be over 5 hrs or any questions, give me a call. A little info on how the boat ran; It dose seem to run a little "flat" even with the 23 mirage Plus. I did test a regular mirage 25 a year ago and that prop blew out about half way to plain along with it not lifting the bow of my boat and only managed 50 mph. Ran a mirage Plus 17 that netted me 51 mph but was way under propped hitting rev limiter at maybe 1/2- 5/8 throttle. Just like you guys, more snow coming today for us, so there's no hurry on the prop. Get guys that can still boat on water done before mine vs us that have to use snowmobiles to cross it :) Thanks, Rob |
Just sent you some Hydromotives Q IV to have the welded hub removed and replace with a provided XR hub

Using the correct recipe will maintain the rpm you have now. Which will be reduced slightly during the hot times of your boating season. This is what you are desiring while decreasing slip numbers. This should also help to alleviate the cav issues on the RH prop. It has to do with the pitch progression locales and the cup height location. The XR hubs will not typically wear out as far as the metal is concerned without major prop bore issues. A square plug in a square hole can only go so far. But, there is a long story behind the delrin strips you speak of. You mentioned them as rubber. If indeed you have a XR they are plastic/delrin a plastic composite. When we developed that insert we spent mucho time finding the correct way to attach the strips to the hub. The hub and the strips lack any porosity and it made attachment difficult with adhesives. To make a long story short, we settled on a very aggressive 2 sided tape. So the tape will eventually fail and the strip get loose or decrease the fit tolerances or fall off. We can redo the attachment during the Labbing process. Thanks, Brett |
