Default Prop problems

Hey guys. I have some problems/questions about my setup. I have a Magic 29' Wizard with a 502 mag mpi and a bravo drive. 24p bravo one. 450HP 5,050 RPM @ WOT. 62 MPH @ WOT. My motor was rebuilt about 20 hrs ago and now has alot more power as well as the rev limiter set at 5,600 RPM. One main problem with my setup is that i am not getting the RPM that i need. another problem is that the boat lifts extremely high at WOT. So high that if i cut the throttle at high speed and a comfy trim level the boat wants to walk off on me really bad. I know this is a solid boat with lots of fresh power but i need some help getting the power out of the prop and to the water!

No, the prop is stock as far as I know. It has minor Knicks and dings.

Try different props. 1 of my 24 b1s has a nick and you can barely tell that blade is laid back, but I am losing 150-200 rpms throughout range.. could be prop, you may also try a 22b1 to get your r's

What rpm and mph did the boat run before the engine mods??? The propslip is a little high at 17%, but not extreme for a 29' single engine boat.
Was the engine dyno'd at 450hp??? with acessories and wet exhaust??? 450hp on a dyno without accessories and with dry dyno headers is maybe 10hp more than a stock 502mpi
What was done other than raising the rev limiter???

Bow steer?

Try to get more bow lift. Was this the same prop as before? This might be another reason for the slower than anticipated speed.

Tell us more...

Those minor knicks and dings could be costing you 200-500rpms and increasing propslip depending on how bad they are.

Not a problem. Everybody was new once. I closed the other threads and referred them to this thread.
