boat is storage, but i think 23p its the two prop setup one turns one way and the other turns the opposite. im running about 4500rpm . feels good jumps right out of the water feels good on top end, just the gps issue. was hoping for at least 62 .i figure i could get there but may be on a brovo one out drive. im new to this stuff still. thought maybe carb intake setup and maybe cam. but then i have to find the right rpm power range.

You could use more rpm. My guess would be 21s or lab the 23s. I have no experience with a bravo 3 so take this with a grain of salt.

How many hours in motor? It might just be tired. I think 4800-5200 is factory max rpm for that boat. If its just tired props won't help a lot. If it is over propped you may see the gain you want.

Depends on what 454 you have. If you have a 454 (330 or 310 version) that's about all the speed you're going to get out of it. Especially with a bravo3. If you have the 454 mag (365 carb or 385 mpi) you should be running low 60s at best.

For what it's worth if it's a non mag 454 your wot should be between 44-4800 and if it's a mag it's 46-5000 and can spin as high as 5200 without damage. I think the rev limiter is 5150.

The dock manners and planing ability of the bravo3 is nice but it hits a wall around 60. A bravo1 would also get on plane perfectly fine and would be the preferred drive in my opinion unless you're doing a lot of water sports behind the boat.

Thanks,, you through a lot of great points at me. I will do some more research on what i have. and go from from there, but to me it sounds like Ive hit the wall.
Figure when i hit that first rock, i will be replacing the brovo3 with a 1 , thats if it will fit in the Gimbel or how ever you call it.

Thanks again for your info

Yes all bravo drives use the same transom assembly so it will be a direct bolt on. Depending on the gear ratio that you have you could potentially bolt a bravo1 lower unit onto your bravo3 upper. But you need to check how many teeth are on your upper gear set to make sure you will have the correct gear ratio when finished. You're looking for a 1.5 gear ratio (which is the most common bravo1)

Then with props you're going to be looking for a 23 mirage or mirage plus. (Now note without adding hp you're not going to see much improvement in speed, maybe Afew mph)

B3 is definitely slowing you down but not much. That hull will run 58-60 mph with a 330 and a 23 mirage on a B1.

I have owned a few of those boats. A cam/intake/carb swap will do you wonders even if it is a peanut port 330!
