Mercury labbed?
I believe Brett mentioned you would get a about 200 more rpms and better feel with the labbed. The extra 200 also to get you to the top of your wot range and get every available hp!
Custom labbing would be only what you need, where you need it based on what boat you have and what's it's already doing.

your wallet will be lighter, your engine will rev higher, and if you are lucky you will gain 1 mph, most lab props just slip more and don't give more speed. If you are going to spend the money on a prop labbed for your boat then you might see a little better result but you need to do some testing first to see what the boat likes and needs.

At $392 per propeller to Lab Finish, any speed gained will be the cheapest speed gain you will find.
Lab Finishing is a engineered art. We now Lab Finish specific to goals not to a standard pattern like we did years ago at Mercury Racing. Therefore, slip % increases are not consistently the case.
If the process didn't work I doubt we would be doing this every day in our prop lab and the reputation for performance gains wouldn't exist.
Absolutely you need baseline information to determine the best recipe for Labbing to the goals you set.

The majority of the time we gain more than 1 mph. You are not lucky to gain 1 mph but there are folks who's props we have done that I feel were lucky to gain the 6 mph they actually gained.

I'm talking for BBLADES. I can't speak for any other prop shops.
Thank you,
Brett
