Hi all,
Looking to find a top speed prop for my Pachanga 22. It has a full aftermarket drivetrain with a built 502 pushing ~500HP, Bravo 1 drive with 1.50 gear ratio and a short lower unit. The drive previously had 1.36 gears; the PO told me he got 74mph GPS out of it using a 24p Michigan prop. I got 72 GPS with a 23p Mirage standard before the 1.36s broke and I replaced them with thick floored 1.5s.
I tried a 25p Mirage Plus on it, but the prop kept blowing out and I could only get up to about 65 WOT. Right now I have a 26p Bravo 1 4 blade which is nice all around but will only do 67 @ 5100 RPM.
What should I look for in a 3 blade for top speed? I'm also thinking of stepping up to a 28p Bravo 1 with my 4 blade.

If a 26P Bravo only nets 5100rpm, why would you go to a 28P Bravo ? It will lower your rpm even further.
Best thing to do is search to see what manufacturer/model prop has worked best for others with your same exact boat and then tell us honestly what your motor makes for power and then better suggestions can be made to help dial you in.
If you really don't know what the power is you can tell us all the parts and we can come super close to what it should be making.

Mercury Tempest 25 (A-45) type which is the older style may work for you. If you can't find a older one you will have to have the new one labed. We run a older style 27 at 6,000 rpm's, the 4 blade props lift the tail end of that boat and make it tuff to drive at speed....

We have Lab Finished a bunch of Mirage + props for Pechanga's for top speed.
Being a 22 footer suggests a Tempest + will work too.
3 blade props with high rake angles will produce the best speed.

hi there , we`ve worked with quite a few Doral Phazar which is the same boat basically as the Pachanga 22 and the best prop we`ve found for that boat was a Tempest plus 23 with a 1.36 drive , those boats don`t seem to like the 4 blades and bigger props , with a 502 cid , cmi headers ,engine dynode at around 540 hp the boat would go 72 mph on gps at 5200 rpm
