Default 25 Powerplay 595HP/595torque Prop setup help

25 Powerplay
Just rebuilt my motor and was dyno'ed at 595/595.

Padded bottom with a notch before transom.

my propshaft is 6" below

currently 75mph at i think 6000 rpm because i'm burying the tach that only reads to 6k. Drive is getting trimmed to the moon.

i have a weird slip from 3000-4000rpm where it will just blow the prop out.... around 4200 i get bite and it will accelerate like a rocket with so much pull.

the prop on the boat is a Ron Hill 24P Signature 4-blade.

I tried a bravo prop prior to this new motor build, and the stern of the boat was lifting like crazy and getting squirrelly.

is my drive too deep? i need to go up in pitch for sure. what should i lean towards to try and get this boat to fly.

You're getting a ton of prop slip. With your prop shaft that deep I would try a mirage plus. A 27 would be a good start if youcan borrow one.

I think you are gonna need a 26b1. Don't go by previous test results with old power. It probably didnt have enough power to carry the bow...

Stock bravo lower

Tested 28 b1 today. 5000 rpm @ 76.8

Also tested another mirage.... boat wont plane with it. Just slips and blows out. Cant get it to fall on plane no matter what I try

Dyno shows peak hp to start at 5600 and stays at peak hp thru 5900

you could not be more correct, that exact same 28 Bravo acted very strange with the old power, tested the exact same prop again today, and you could pin the throttle and take your hands off the steering wheel and trim it out and drive for miles effortlessly.

I think you are on money for a 26. I am hardly getting bow lift out of the boat tho.

Mirage or Mirage Plus? Mirage Plus bites much better. Are there vent holes on the Mirage?

Bravo props don't carry the bow very well. A Mirage Plus will give you much more bow lift. Also, the Rev 4 is a great 4 blade for bow lift.

79.3 with a bravo 26 at 5500-5600

No vent holes on the mirage.

The boat is running very wet for sure, not getting much bow lift yet. Ran side by side w another boat at top speed.

If it's a standard Mirage try to get your hands on a Mirage Plus. What rpm should you be running?
