I am new to perf boats, and picked up a low hour 1992 nova spyder with 454 mag. So here is what I have. It has a quicksilver 23p. I was able to get 62gps at 5200rpm. I used a slip calculator and that shows 18%. I am thinking jumping up to a 24 or 25 pitch. It seems top and is a little low, and I seem to need more throttle for mid rpm cruising. that speed was, 4 people, and 50gallon of fuel. If I trimmed up more, rpms went up but speed slowed. Or would getting prop reworked and labbed be better? I don't pull anything, and hole shot not a concern. Mid range cruising speed and top end is. I have 2 buddies who are slightly faster both cruising and top speed.
