I ran a 288 w/525 with 28 Bravo 1 @ 5200 rpm. I know of another 288 w/525 also ran 28 Bravo 1. My experiences the 288 liked the Bravo 1 the best.

with 565 hp and a 28' foot boat you should be able to spin a labbed 30!! Somethings wrong with the engine ( limp mode setting) or that 26 is all out of wack.
