OK, so an '05 should be a full single-step hull, not just the ventilated chine. I think it may also have a small notch at the transom? Cannot remember. Anyways, so you have the trim tucked somewhat at 72 MPH @ 5,200 RPM whereas when you trim it out (but not blowing out the prop, correct?) you are hard on the rev limiter at 74 MPH @ 5,500 - 5,550 RPM? Sounds to me like you can easily pull a 28p Bravo I and go from there.

I do have a shower... And I did cut the pick up tube as short as I could when I installed it.... That one baffled me on the last boat I had!
If the pick up tube is installed too deep it will mess with the prop in a bad way.
