I'm trying to get a feel of whats out there for my scarab 38 project when I get ready for props in a few months. The boats a 38 wellcraft scarab straight bottom, has arnesons and accepts the mercury #6 props. I've spoken to a guy who built essentially the same boat (he had 1000hp, mine should be 650-725hp) He ran 103-107mph with 31 pitch. I've been told 18" diameter is a must for these hulls. So that's what I plan on. Looks like I'll be in the 27 pitch neighborhood. Anybody got opinions on this? And any idea where to look for these odd spec props? Trying to get a game plan going. Thanks.
