Just noticed something in your last pics. Does the starboard prop have some damage to the blades? If so this could be a piece of the issue.

Mercruiser spends a lot of time researching ways for parts to fail. They have to, otherwise they wouldn't be so good at it.

For some reason it's too much out of those props and they are sucking air from above. Walking the throttle slowly allows the water to continue to be "feeding" the prop as the boat moves faster. I'd be very surprised if you put a 5 blade on if you had any issue getting on plane. Not a 26 pitch, probably a 24. If this is a problem that has been "slowly" getting worse you might have water intrusion somewhere. We have cut a lot of boats apart and sometimes find vast amounts of soaking wet foam and even standing water in sealed compartments. My old Sonic ran 68 @ 5000 with 26 Bravo ones. Labbed props do not plane out as well in all my experiences.

Bencini,

OP hasn’t posted any pics of his props yet. He’s mentioned he is using brand new props, though.

Thanks. Brad.

XR upper gear gears and merc spec 525-700 CMI headers come to mind

Those 2 items have to be their biggest failures in the r &d
department

They made many a owners wallets lighter

Until I've had it in lake erie for a few weeks I can slowly get it on plane, while doing so the props are blowing out. Once it's bottom is too dirty, no matter what I do it won't plane.

I don't notice any vibrations, and the props don't wobble when I've spin them while on the trailer.

Baja33Outlaw,

Any update on this? Pics? Genuinely curious....

Thanks. Brad.

no, sorry. Haven't had any time to get out there since I've posted all this. Didn't want too make this thread too much longer replying until I can get some pictures. Appreciate everyone for all the advice on this so far, I'll get back soon.

So finally got some pictures, a bit useless since everything is covered. Also shows how bad of a boat owner I am, lol. Went and pulled the boat out just now by myself, in the dark. I was planning on sitting on the swim platform to watch what the props do when we take off while someone drove, but plans for them fell through. It's late and have to tow it home now, so don't have time to clean off and check everything tonight. I'll be doing quite a bit of power washing soon. about the only thing that's clear right now is that the drive shower is installed correctly, right?

Wow that’s a lot of growth on there, what does the rest of the boat look like? The good news is you found your problem.

How long has it sat in the water?
