Hustler 266 prop height with notched transom.
 

1995 hustler with a hp 500efi and bravo 1.50 drive bravo 1 26 4 blade prpo shaft is 41/2 inch below the keel . With the notched transom can i go to a shorty lower and gain peformance? Right now it carries the bow nice and can turn 5200 rpm. Any help would be great . Thanks

I doubt you could go to a -2 and still carry the bow. My 28 Pantera had a notched transom and at 3.5 below the bottom, it wouldn't carry the bow and responded very little to trim. I added another 1" of spacer and it was better riding and 2-4mph faster at all rpms

Thanks Griff i think i"ll leave it alone and maybe try a couple different props .

What are you trying to get out of it? 26P 4 blade seems about spot on for your power.

Just thinking maybe someone has found a better setup for the boat. With the clean water from the notch maybe a 3 blade less drag and easier on the drive. This has been a long project and with the help of FU marine tuning on the water she is just about ready.
