Jason, The Shark Hide stuff is what I use to keep things shinny. It closes the 'pores' in the metal or aluminum and makes the shine last longer. I got mine from Eastwood but it costs about $70.00 for a quart though. Let me know if you need help with anything? I have been putzin' around the lake on the sled lately and have time to come by via sled We were just up at IT off Crescent Lake yesterday for a break and usually lake hop all around the area to the different stops............ Your rebuild is looking awesome. Keep Up the Great Work!!!!!!! Bill

Hey Bill- Thanks for the compliments. I am seriously like 3 blocks from the IT. We frequent there a few times a month. If you want to stop by and check out what I've been up too you are more than welcome. I will shoot you a PM with my number.

Sounds like a blast lake hopping on the sleds. I haven’t been out on my sled since last year, been pretty busy with other things.

Hey Guys- Thought I would throw this out there for discussion, maybe a little brain storming. I'm building a set of custom water pickups. They will be constructed out of mandrel bent U shaped stainless 1.5” O.D with a 1.375” I.D with a wall thickness of just over a 1/16 of an inch welded to a plate that will incorporate the drain plug. I want to use a one piece tube with no adjustability if I can get away with it. When I was at the Miami show last year I seen a several boats (mostly on Skaters and Cigarettes) with U shape pickups with no adjustability. My question is; what is the suggested placement or is adjustability absolutely needed for the proper water pressure? Is there a rule of thumb guideline for this? I've installed pickups in the past on a few different boats but always had to massage the tube length to get correct water pressure, the placement was never correct on the first try.

You could always run a dump with an adjustable pressure relief valve.
