i bought this boat and wish i never did due to the guy lied to me about eveything and i was young and dumb, but i took the time and some money and tore it down and rebuilt it fom top to bottom.

it had a stock 454 330 motor hardly running with every rod bearing spun.

broken out bravo 1 out drive

is how i bought it and this is what i have planned for it this year.

i took the motor and tore it down and then decided to build a 496 bbc for her

i have the interior getting redon by craig from appearance products doing the interior

and fixing up the fiber glass thats all cracked and nasty

ill update as more things get finished on her

Sunrocket24 02-25-2013 07:53 PM

Keep up the work! Looks nice for a 23 year old boat! Mine is also 23 years old and I had to fix a bunch of stuff after buying it also! Blew the rebuilt engine in it 13 hours after I got it! Still love my boat and the money I have into it is better than spending 100k for a new one!

Seebold265NJ 02-26-2013 05:57 AM

I bought my boat expecting to just throw a floor in it and ended up having to do a full rebuild on the hull. Lucky for me the thing ran great but every peice of wood ended up being replaced. Its an old used boat so I dont mind. Like sunrocket said, the pay off from all the hard work is totally worth it in the end!

Thebossbultsma 04-27-2013 07:17 PM

Update almost done with paint then next step is to put the Interior in.

Well I forgot about my exhaust completely and bought 4.8 inch tall valve cover and they don't work so I bought 3 inch valve covers and they still don't fit.

So I did some custom raving cuz I need to out the motor in tomorrow. So this is what I did.

OUCH!! Those comp cam covers look nice have you looked into some exhaust spacers? They make different thickness ones that are not very expensive & just space the manifolds out so they don't hit your valve covers. I think West Coast Marine has them. Randy

Thebossbultsma 06-08-2013 11:12 AM

Yea I ordered 3/8 spacer but I still don't think that it will give me enough to clear the comp cam covers.

Randy Nielsen 06-08-2013 02:29 PM

The guy that built the original engine in my Eliminator used some xtra thick Mr Gasket gaskets & was able to use the stock valve covers on the dart pro 1 heads with poly locks. The part # is 182 I have a set if that would help you. Randy

Thebossbultsma 06-09-2013 10:11 PM

Yea thanks for the offer. I got it to work for now and next year ill just put some nice exhaust on her so I won't have any issues with it. Thanks a ton.

Thebossbultsma got run over by a yacht and his boat is totaled.

Yes boat got run over lol. I still have the boat and I'm going to put it up for sale. Next yr after I fix it.

The boat only took minimum damage to the side he impacted me on. All the damage was done on the bottoms of boat.

Boat runs 70+ at 5000. Never even had it in the water long enough to take her up to 5500 rpms to see why she would do.

Super fast boat with the motor and outdrive set up for sure
