Thanks everyone. The project is moving along now. Haven't done any more work to the boat, but I'm going to try to get in it this afternoon. Things have changed with the engine build as some have read on other parts of the site. The 575-600 n/a setup was scrapped for a blower motor. I decided to go with a b&m 250, cam, mild ported heads with bigger valves (088), roller rockers and all the other supporting equipment. I'm excited for the look and sound offered by the blower. As for power, I'm not sure. I've read many build threads using the same parts as mine and guys have made 650-700. According to Steve at velocity and a couple members on here who make similar power it should be enough to hit low 90's. If that turns out to be the case then I should have a great cruise speed which is were I spend most of my time.

I'm happy to report I think I'm finished with ordering parts though. I was able to get everything needed to finish the motor ordered this week. Blower, carb, inconel exhaust valves, head gaskets, arp head bolts, valve springs, retainers, locks, cam and a single piston I needed to complete my set. My goal is to have the boat ready to start testing by the second week in April. That hopefully will give me enough time to get the bugs worked out for the smokin the sound poker run in Biloxi the last weekend in April and the tickfaw 200 for the first weekend in may.

Moneys spent now its time to work!!!

That's fast!! I'm sure it's going to feel fast no matter what because I haven't been over 63-64 in my last Baja. This boat was said to run 71 with the stock 502 so in factory form it was already 7 mph faster then my old boat. Not to mention the extra 250hp the new motor should have.

After 80 have your ducks all in a row and don't mess with the tabs after 70. If it gets squirrley back out and start over.

My boat doesn't have tabs so no problem there. lol

Your boat is looking really good. Repainting the bilge made it looks 10 years newer.

Lol...I just married 10 years younger to give me a few years before I have to worry about it. That's the idea anyway. :-)

Thanks rgr. It's coming out nice.
