And as I have already written I found a pair of motors. Not really exciting, but I hope they will give me a trouble-free ride and hopefully a top speed of around 60.

But before they could be installed some more cosmetic work had to be done.

I'll be coming to that soon, but the plan has the whole time been to try and keep the impression of an early 80's Cigarette and this also goes for the paint scheme which will be quite traditional.

Sorry peal, not trying to hi jack your great restoration thread!

No problem, encouraging someone to start a restoration thread is always welcome!

The next was to install the motors before going back to the paint shop to reduce the risk of damaging the paint during this process.
(Yes, the cylinders will get some TLC later on)

I was a bit worried if the 496 would fit without modifications compared to the original 454 engines. It worked out, but there is not much space left,

And quite a lot of stainless steel polishing had to be done. Here's one example.

And now i realized that the idea of just painting the deck and sides of the hull was rather stupid, so the decision was taken to repaint the cockpit also.
So the work with removing parts to make the paint job possible had to be taken up again...

The old Nordskog speedometer will be kept and installed again just because I love it. It will however probably not be connected so it will just be for looks.

Some transom test installation was done, but the parts will be taken off again for some TLC.

And I found a deal on some new gauges that I hope will match the look I'm aiming for.

And then again back to the paint shop for more sanding and filling of old screw holes

But then after a while I started receiving messages on my cell phone with pictures attached almost daily. Here are a few of those photos.

And the following photos came with the text message: "It's white now!"

At this point I felt I just had to see the progress with my own eyes so I took a trip to the paint shop. But when I arrived the entire hull was wrapped in brown paper...

At least I got to see a little bit more of the engine hatches, and if you are interested you can see what paint is being used.

And as I have written earlier it's going to be a quite classic design, hockey-stick or what ever you want to call it.
This is the "scetch" the guy doing the paint job got to work with.

And back home I started taking a look at the interior parts I had removed, and started with the bolsters and side panels.

It soon became quite clear that they were beyond repair, so the question was what to do, and the answer was of course to build new ones.
And here are some pictures from that process.
