Default 87' Apache Scout Restoration

As some of you may know I recently completed a restoration of a 1987 21' Apache Scout. The boat has a long history with me dating back to my late teenage years when I began working for a marina. I was always intrigued by the boat and became friends with the owner. I worked on the boat a few times from 19yrs of age up until I was 22 yrs old and began an new career in 2000. Fast forward 13 years later, April 2013 I bought the boat as a 2nd boat with the intent of restoring it. The boat had been in neglect for the past 5-7 years and I made a few offers to the owner but we were too far apart on price and I didn't want to spend that kind of money on a second boat. Then Hurricane Sandy happened in 2012 and the boat was partially submerged during the hurricane.

Six months later I made a deal with the owner and brought her home. First I pulled the engine to rebuild it because it was siezed. I did manage to get the engine running in the boat but it had issues so out she came for a refresh. Two weeks later after a full refresh (bearings, rings, cyninder head machine work, electronic sensors etc.) she made her maiden voyage. I ran the boat for the balance of the 2013 boating season but she needed a ton of work.

This winter the real restoration process began. New interior, new gauges, powder coating and an unplanned engine upgrade. The old engine was a 350MPI and the new engine is a 355", 430hp MPI engine.

Below is a link to the pictures of the entire restoration process up until now. There's a few odds and ends to be completed such as powdercoating cleats and a new rub rail but for the most part she is done!
