I was wondering what happened to Billy and his 242, guess I have my answer.

Missing a set of heads for one motor? They are reworked and sitting on my long block that was destined for this boat at one time. Not sure what you were planning on doing motor wise, thought I would throw that out there.

Congrats on picking that boat up. The rebuild work he did on it really seemed top notch, looks like it will last a very long time. I am located just west of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Not that far away. Actually 9 days ago I drove through Marysville returning from PA.

Welcome to the Formula club.

I guess I should have checked this thread earlier I sent you a PM a little while ago.

I haven't decided for sure what I am going to do motor while yet, it won't be anything to crazy at-least for now.

I might be interested in the heads do you have any other parts you'd like to sell?

Its good to see more forum members so close

Thanks
Jordan

So it’s about time for me to start searching for engines for my boat. I’ve done a little research but I’m still trying to determine exactly what I need. Almost all of my experience is from the diesel world I’ve only tore into one other small block Chevy before.

Anyways from what I’ve gathered I should find a block with 4 bolt mains and a one piece rear main seal but other than that is there anything else I should make sure the blocks have? Also when it comes to finding a set of heads what all differences are there between the years any things I should look out for? As of now I’m planning on just using stock heads.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

I have a Mercruiser 350 block from the mid 80's that I will sell you for $50.00. It is just a block with pistons and the crank left. Bucyrus OH.

I have a bunch of photos mostly of the interior stuff from two 84' 242 LS projects, and one of them was a twin 350 boat. Look up Tom Pool, or Matt Ross online and they may have other photos also. Here are some before and after photos of the interior we did for Tom.
