Default 500 EFI Upgrades

I'm trying to assist a friend who is not a member of OSO. He currently has a Powerquest 380 with a pair of 500 EFI's. He is currently running 72 on GPS all day long. He's looking into upgrades for the winter, so I'm looking for help from the OSO trust. Any help would be appreciated!!

He was looking at the Teague mono blade throttle body conversion. They claim a 25hp increase over stock with that modification.

Take those claims with a grain of salt.

With very minor head porting and a non blade throttle body, mine made 527 on the dyno with 575 tq. With aluminum heads like AFR or such I'd think atleast 575 hp.

Whats his budget ?? that will determine what hp gains he will see.........40 or 50 hp a side will get you a couple mph

1. heads
2. upgraded cam
3. ecu reflash

I'll have to ask his budget, he was looking for any and all suggestions.....without tearing into the engines.

I agree that a cam change would be needed along with heads, throttle body, intake manifold, reflash. All that can be done without pulling engines if you are able to make room to slide the cams out. It needs to be a full package.

The bilge in the PQ is pretty big and there's is a bunch of room between the block and the back of the rear seat so a cam change might be possible without pulling the bullets.

On some applications you can cut a small hole in the bulkhead and cover it with an access plate.
