Flushing the drives out one last time, then fill em up and hit the water again tomorrow. Before we headed out I wanted to check that prop slip at 70mph I noted above. As I though, it looks to be about 11% when she trimmed out nicely for a moment. Which is great if those numbers will carry upwards until we run out of torque.

Back on the water late today for a quick test of the drive repairs. So far, so good. Actually ran 15miles non-stop, new record.
Here is some cell phone video from shore today showing a 70mph pass, then slowing clear down to 45mph to get an idea where she runs in the water. Next step, going to get a camera "Securely" mounted back on the tiebar and try to get a view of the drive height again.

I'm gonna have to say that the worlds only other diesel 40OL takes the prize for First Big Baja Rooster Tail with those ASD8's.
Since this boat is one of the original 3 Outlaws factory equipped with #6's, it's certainly in a very short company.. But she does throw a pretty nice one, and still turns good above 50mph trimmed up.. Which I checked by making three 180's on the river while maintaining plane, last in video above. Was a primary concern due to this boats checkered history with 6's and turns. Best part of the deal, the skegs on these W drives are several inches longer than the 6's that came off it. So handling is improved I'll bet, but I still wanta see those prop shafts at cruising speed, and in a turn.
Here is a couple more videos from yesterday. First is one of trim levels testing my buddy shot from onboard. Second is from the rear facing camera, which somehow got swapped again with one I had sound turned off on. So I added my own "appropriate" soundtrack specifically for Dave, who hates it when I forget record engine sounds.. But seems youtube tagged as copyright in some regions. If ya can't view it, that's why. If ya can view, it's 9 minutes running at speed that will stick in your head rest of the day, guaranteed....

Poor old Benny Hill......my he was a funny old chap!
I have dreamt of owning a turbine powered boat.....that ‘screaming’ sound and so much speed, but with huge fuel consumption and a blow up and burn to the gunnels idea......but now I have it with twin Duramax by KIDTURBO! Less fuel, safer and more fun! WOOHOO!
March, 2016 we started KIDTURBO and I......and look at where we are today.
What a remarkable achievement.
VooDoo will be soon doing the dance on Sydney Harbour.
So KIDTURBO, next project?.......oh and don’t worry my wife Susan ain’t watching the thread.....)))
