Keith,

Planning to use an tensioner off a 2.2L in place of the fan pulley. Then put an idler between water pump and alt. Other option is an ajustable slide tensioner / idle pulley somewhere. But prefer to keep it self adjusting.

Has anyone come up with a fix for the circulator pump impellers spinning off the shaft yet? Mine wouldn't last 5 min once we went over 750 rwhp

They sell welded impeller pumps now, but still doesn't resolve high rev cavitation issues. My fix, 55gpm electrics..

Need to order some SS 90 zerks to clear steering rams, but it's a definite improvement with lube.

Also picked up the valve covers yesterday.

That's what i ended up doing. Don't use the jegs brand pumps. First one caught fire, second one made a ton of noise and leaked. Can't remember the name of the last one I had but it was pretty popular with dmax guys at the time

I had no idea Andrew bought your old boat! I've been a customer of Andrew's for years, and we have never talked boats so I'll have to ring him up. The project looks absolutely awesome. I have been working on twin turbo LS engines in my Challenger Aerotech for about a year, but think I'd like to do some baby Duramax's in a 32' Fountain next. Good luck!

How do ya distinguish a Weismann surface drive from a Bravo, IMCO, BMAX or Speedmaster VI ??

Jules will explain it...

Just a nickels worth of advice (plus or minus a couple grand ) ... pull your water pump on the dmax and pin it. They are a press fit and will spin at some point with age/hp. DO NOT Weld them since they are a composite material. I had pump go bad on my Kodiak in route to a poker run. Danville sells them brand new already pinned or I have a brand new one here I would sell you and have a machine shop pin it.

Awesome build!

I've seen this waterpump issue before, agree that a welded or pinned pump is a good idea. However there is still an issue with cavitation at high RPM. For that reason we ditched the crank driven pumps for electrics on these engines. Also running a waterless coolant with boiling point over 300F.

Believe it or not they still break the impellers or shafts when pinned. Ask me how I know....
