1989 Wellcraft Scarab 28 Excel - Restoration
#51
Please post a pic of how you mounted the intercooler. Seems like it will hit the seat. Also, I am able to pull my motor without removing the Procharger but my intercooler is remotely mounted.
Did you make or purchase the battery mounts? Think I'll move mine there also, it's just wasted space.
Thanks

Scarab 28 - The ProCharger intercooler
The bulkhead is actually wider than it appears and is completely glassed. In the first mock install, the area where the intercooler was hitting was marked and removed. Then re-carpeted. Now the intercooler will neatly tuck into the cavity. Look closely at the second pic and you'll see the cut-out.
The battery boxes are Eddie Marine which were customized to mount between the stringers. Objective is to lower center of gravity; it also does open up the space.
Will post pics of intercooler once it's mounted.

Scarab 28 - Clarion head unit controler
Dan also mounted the Clarion head unit controller. At a glance we thought it might be a tad too big but it fits perfectly.

[QUOTE=Katanna;4535366]Haha! I had it made by the original shop that made them for Wellcraft (around $1,100 back then, maybe it was $1,300). I've seen some aftermarket ones that are awful looking. Love the look of this one! Thanks for the offer though; you really know how to sacrifice, LOL!

Scarab 28 - Speaker/Cup Holder
I was never crazy about the cup holders on the boat. I don't like the way they bulge outward; they're rather small so the size of the cup is limited; they look wimpy. Then Dan showed me these recessed speaker/cup holders he made for another boat; they're even large enough to install a nice stainless grab handle - and the speaker points towards the seat to create perfect stereophonic acoustics. We're thinking some Rockford-Fosgate speakers with LED rings & Livorsi LED cup holders ought to look pretty good.
