I've been told by big Al that i am essential services :D
Got they bustle glued on. After making all the pieces "flat deck" style it all gets tabbed and bonded and shmooed and glued together. After messing with several lengths and stuff i ended up with what i believe will place the bottom of the bustle just at the water line. The blue line represents where the water line is and the sail panel on the lower part i left long and arbitrary to be trimmed later. Originally i made the tail straight across the back but during bonding i massaged it into a nice gentle curve from side to side and it made a huge difference. Hey Dave - I saw your setup to plug the sending unit hole on that tank to pressure test. I'll show you what I did on mine, it's a little easier. If I have a spare, I'll give you one. I used a rubber plug that has a threaded rod thru the center, and then used (#8s ?) screws with o-rings to plug the holes. That way, you dont have to make a plate for each sending unit hole. It's pretty universal. Only issue would be if the large center hole was a different size, as the plug has a certain range.
Look at sending unit hole, upper left in pic. It worked out well. man those tanks swell when you pressure test them. That's 6,000 pounds of force on the top panel!!! Think about it. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...dd4d861c5e.jpg |

final gel to put the final shape on the lines and sides . . . these old gals can use all the fairing they can get. This line was in my head all along, its an un unabstructed line that traveles all the way around the boat unbroken and its actally the bustle that ties it together.

flat surfaces dont stand a chance in my shop they just naturally a catch all/shelf for . . .. well anything that needs a place to set **** down . . . . gets burried once in a while lol . . . just unburried it recently and am going to spin it around next couple days to shoot finish gell on port side so i can start the final sanding for paint. one of the other things i been busy with . . . . got married lol . . . had a closed ceremony on a restored lake erie freighter at a great lakes museum we have here in toledo. Phragle Rob and some friends did a flyby on the river since because of the virus BS we hadonly immediate family and put off reception till next year :D
