Let me clear things up here because posts here are kinda like texts, easily misconstrued.
I have the utmost respect and admiration for Al (adk61)
Had it not been for the logistics issue he was my first choice for my motor rebuilds.
My apologies to Al if anyone misinterpreted my posts as anything other than jerking AL’s chain.

The boat looks great! What did you use for the seat layup?

i had a couple of the old style PPI buckets from before they went to the rotomolded inner structure. My upholstery guy made patterns off the skins i had. I always thought these were the most comfortable of them all. the layup is pretty basic half inch core with two layers of 1708 on each side in vinylester

Absolutely and yes he.
And on top of that he’s just a straight up good dude.

Light refresh on the Tiger motors.
I bought a couple of real nice bell housing coolers from him, mine are shot.

glassdave 02-14-2020 11:17 AM

Got some updates for the general masses on this fine Valentines day :D . . . .

thought I'd get the bilge in final high build gel/prime before we slapped the deck down for the last time and since Santa clause was unemployed after Dec 25th i put him on to do some sanding and fairing . . .
https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...135af56fc5.jpg

glassdave 02-14-2020 11:20 AM

Pressure tested tanks one last time, held 5 psi over a weekend . . . . that should do

https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...be02ab37de.jpg

glassdave 02-14-2020 11:23 AM

After everything got sanded down we pulled tanks and gelled all the visible surfaces (and some not visible . . . . everything we could get to anyways)

https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...6172e895e1.jpg

glassdave 02-14-2020 11:28 AM

I put down a layer of closed cell neoprene under the tanks to help support the tanks over slight irregularities in the floor and bottom of tank. The wells themselves have drains on both sides towards the middle just in case. Its a commercial flooring material that has a diamond plate pattern that i feel helps drain as well.

glassdave 02-14-2020 11:37 AM

Hey i think this qualifies as actual rigging . . . . actual rigging :D. . . . that means we've turned the corner and are half way done! (JUST KIDDING . . . JUST KIDDING AL! we're way past that . . . AL? . . . . . . Al??. . . i think Al may have blacked out for a minute there after the half way wise crack . . . .)

At any rate just wanted everything done in the bilge so the tanks got final foamed and bolted in as well as some of the rigging tubes i added under the floor, cant never have to many rigging runs. Also Santa final sanded the prime/gel while we had access. Almost all of this rear structure is new along with some extra outboard stringers so the engines no longer have to be through bolted through the sides of the boat.

“Cushion clamps” were originally developed for aircraft use and Adel was the manufacturer thus the name.
