New build input
With the Miami boat show around the corner we are starting to plan a new build for the show.
The boat is going to be an outboard boat. We have had many inquiries about building these.
We are looking for input on cockpit configuration, engine pkg......
thanks

I spoke to you guys about doing a boat as you mentioned. I did a lot of research on many manufacturers and I recently spent a week in Florida and looked at both of these boats. The new 29 AT and a 28 Checkmate OBX. I also looked at a 30 Concept Sport Deck and 30 Velocitys with OB's. I was looking for something more passenger friendly and allowed room to layout on the pad so I preferred the OBX layout over the AT's Poker Run layout. The way the AT is set up you have secure seating during a hard run but then when sitting around the layout only offers a space for one person to lay out, the others have to stand or sit in the bolsters which really isn't comfortable. AT offers the same boat in an open bow which I really liked. That open bow would then give space for three people to fully layout. I'd suggest either the OBX layout or do a standard aft bench with a sun pad like the OBX. Hang twin 300 Verados off an intergrated swim platform.

34 is the only way to go! 28 is to small for the money it will deserve, and 41 is to narrow to appeal to that market.
34 should be the perfect size for twin Mercury 400s!
Closed bow with larger cockpit and some type of design that is nice while anchored swimming and sunbathing. Doesn't need extra bolsters just lots of grab handles for standing while riding.
Looking forward to following the build!

28ft build for sure.
I would second ING choice and second the OBX checkmate style. Plenty of room to, and can always add a section to the rear seat to turn it into a big pad. That can be taken apart and stored in the capin or under the rear seat?
For power, please mount the motors on a setback bracket. For motors, I would love Seven Marine?

Sevens Marine outboards weigh in at just under 1100 lbs each. The Verado are around 640 lbs each. Imo I would stick with Verado's with a Stainless Marine bracket. You have a good idea on the rear seat!

The engines will definitely be mounted on a bracket. Verado's are going to be the engine of choice unless someone wants something different. Plans are for a U couch/rear seat. The filler cushions to convert the rest of the U is a great idea. One of the main reasons for doing the 28 is we have had the most quote requests for that boat. The main destination is the islands.
